Silver Panda was formed at the end of 2021 when Shlomi and Leo decided to turn a shared musical vision into something bigger.The two first met in the United States, when Leo — then organizing psytrance events — invited Shlomi to perform at one of his parties. What began as a booking quickly evolved into a creative connection built around a deep appreciation for underground electronic music. Both artists came from strong psytrance backgrounds, a foundation that still influences the hypnotic energy and driving intensity present in Silver Panda’s sound today.When Shlomi envisioned launching a new melodic techno project, Leo was the natural choice. Despite living on opposite sides of the world — Shlomi, originally from Israel and now based in Thailand, and Leo, a Brazilian artist living in the United States — they built Silver Panda as a borderless project from day one.The name reflects that intention. They wanted something simple, memorable, and easy to pronounce in any language. Choosing an animal felt universal and symbolic, and to avoid being just “Panda,” they added “Silver,” giving the project a clean and distinctive identity.Since its launch, Silver Panda has rapidly established itself within the melodic techno scene. With collaborations alongside John Summit, Massano, and Agents of Time, the project has toured worldwide, performing at leading clubs and major festivals across the United States, South America, Europe, and Asia. Their releases have reached #1 on Beatport’s Overall Chart, including the #1 top-selling melodic techno track of 2024, while also ranking #1 for track support via 1001Tracklists.Because of the distance between them, Silver Panda performances are often delivered solo. This logistical reality has become part of the project’s structure, allowing for greater flexibility in global touring while maintaining a consistent creative direction.
